The redesign of the global restaurants takeaway packaging focused on reducing its environmental impact and carbon footprint, while still retaining the premium customer experience the business is known for.

The continuous testing of operations, packaging systems and materials from all parties involved led to the successful launch of the new Wagamama packaging range. The updated range has removed over 330 tons of virgin plastic annually and the new colour has increased the detectability of the vessels through the scanners at recycling centres.

The overall number of plastic vessels was simplified from 6 to 3 and the change to cPET ensures the packaging is being made from 70% recycled content, as well as remaining recyclable across the UK.
